Surveys
NGO and Charity mapping survey
In 2022, ENTYAC, in collaboration with SIOP Europe, ESMO, EONS and EHA developed a survey to map regional and national charities and NGOs supporting Adolescent and Young Adults affected by cancer.
The results of this survey provided valuable insights into the existing landscape. A report on the results of the survey can be downloaded here.
NGO and Charity regional and national mapping 2022.
In 2026 we repeated this survey to track the growth, evolution and impact of AYA-focussed services and organisation across Europe in the past three years.
Key Overall Changes Between the Two Surveys
What has increased?
-
The age of NGOs (there are more mature organisations in 2026)
-
More organisations have listed Government funding as a source of funding for their organisation (this is still low, but higher than earlier)
-
More organisations have identified their awareness of other AYA organisations operating in their countries.
-
Organisations have more of a focus on policy/legal issues than in the previous survey
What decreased?
-
The number of countries represented is lower
-
The emphasis on advocacy as the top organisational focus has decreased with information giving now being the main activity
What stayed the same?
-
Funding is consistently the largest challenge for NGOS
-
Patient involvement remains strong and multi-faceted at most organisations
-
Core psychosocial needs of AYAs persist between both surveys
